IMPORTANT NOTICE

Important Notice.

As a thankyou to all current 2024 Bathampton Angling Association members, who have supported us through a very trying year, we are offering free day tickets on the Newton Park and Dave Crookes Fishery lakes starting on Monday 9th December. This will cease at the end of 31st December.

Members MUST have their membership tab with them and will be asked to present it to bailiffs when asked. Failure to present a tab will lead you to being asked to leave immediately. Photos or copies of tabs will not be acceptable.

This is for current membership holders only and is not applicable for new memberships purchased in December. Anyone purchasing a new membership when they are released in December can fish the venues but will be required to purchase a day ticket.

Any non-members looking for day tickets to fish the rivers, please contact the Membership Secretary who will be able to advise how you will be able to purchase tickets if you do not have an outlet near you selling tickets.

Thanks

Carp rig workshop

Hi All
Following really positive feedback regarding a carp rig workshop, I can confirm this will be held at Hunstrete Lakes on Saturday 12th August, between 10am and 1pm.
We’ll hold it by the junior coaching shed, next to Withy lake.
We are not experts by any stretch of the imagination, just a few volunteers to show you what we know, mainly looking at what can be considered safe rigs and how to tie and use simple carp rigs and leaders. This session is aimed at novice and junior anglers.

It would be helpful if people could comment to say you hope to attend as we are looking to light a bbq for a few simple burgers.
Unfortunately it’s only a small bbq, we are going to struggle to offer vegetarian or vegan alternatives, sorry.

We will be looking at holding a separate session for piking later this year if this proves successful

Thanks
Tim

Newbridge River Avon Bathampton Angling Association

Sunday 21st November River race

I’m the race coordinator for Canoe Avon, based at the Saltford Rowing Centre.

I’d like to inform you that we will be running a canoeing race on Sunday 21st November (the day after Avon Rowing have their race). The race will be using the section of the Avon between the Saltford Rowing Centre and New Bridge. We will be racing between 10:30am and 3pm.

We would request that you ask your members to minimise fishing activity on that day, or at least stay alert to kayaks on the river and ensure lines are not causing a hazard.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Regards,

Steve Askew

The last year has highlighted just how amazing our NHS is, but the RUH Bath still needs our help.

RUH staff are there for us every day, no matter what and over the last year and half they have been working tirelessly every day to support patients, families, and each other throughout one of the most challenging times in the history. They have never stopped going the extra mile for us, and now it’s our turn.

Every step you take will help make a difference to patient lives, when they need us most and continue to support our staff beyond the crisis. You’ll make it possible to fund lifesaving equipment and ground breaking research, as well as patient and staff wellbeing initiatives and the creation of calm and healing places that go beyond what standard NHS funding can provide.

Take the first step today, and sign up to the Walk of Life.

Best wishes,
