Traditional fly fishing only for Brown Trout and Grayling.

A high class spring fed limestone river, supporting an abundance of insect life with (usually) an amazing mayfly hatch and a thriving population of free rising wild trout.

Season: 1st April to 15th October [inclusive]

Box Brook Permit Prices:

Sensors cost £35 for both beats (in addition to club membership) cheques payable to ‘Bathampton AA’ with current club card membership number written on back of cheque. (plus s.a.e.) or send cheque for £75 payable to ’Bathampton AA’ for club membership and season permit. (plus s.a.e.)

Juniors (under 17 Y.O.): must fish at all times with a senior season permit holder cost £15 for both beats. (in addition to club membership) or send cheque for £30 for club membership and season permit  payment instructions as per seniors.

The adult member will be responsible for the actions of the junior at all times whilst at the fishery.

Reduced price part-season permits may be available from 1st august - depending on the number of full season permits issued.

Guest Permits:

Members who attend and work at any official bank clearance work parties are entitled to two free guest permits for every work party attended - to a maximum of six guest permits per member per season. Season permit holders may purchase two guest permits each per season cost is £7 per guest per day

When claiming/booking free guest permits members must –

1) Send their name,address and membership number to Adrian Wallace
2) Supply date(s) of visit(s) by guest(s)
3) Supply names and addresses of guests
4) Include a self addressed envelope
5) Send remittance payable to ‘Bathampton AA’ (Only if Season Permit Holder)
6) Give at least 7 days notice

Beat 1 - Shockerwick

Take A4 from Bath to Box.   After passing the Bradford on Avon roundabout at Bathford, stay on A4 and take next turning left to Shockerwick.   Road crosses brook; park carefully, DO NOT OBSTRUCT GATEWAYS. Fishing boundaries are marked by notice boards.

Go past Shockerwick turn [for Beat 1] and take next turn left to Middlehill.   Cross brook and park on right. Fishing boundaries are marked by notice boards.
