BATHAMPTON A.A.  NOTICE TO MEMBERS.

A member has contacted the General Secretary to state his disapproval of members “bagging swims” at Hunstrete and members are reminded of the following rule:

“It is not permitted to reserve or pre-book any fishing platform, swim or space. save and except for official BAA Coaches or events organised and sanctioned in writing by The Association.”

Members may only place their own tackle or items at a peg that they are intending to fish from.

Also, members are reminded no to arrive too early at the front gate and to consider the residents of Hunstrete and road users in a narrow road.

If any more complaints are received relating to these matters the committee will consider what action to take against those concerned and may also consider in access being supervised.

IMPROVEMENTS TO PLATFORMS AT HUNSTRETE.

IMPROVEMENTS TO PLATFORMS AT HUNSTRETE.

It is the policy of the Association to seek funding from all sources with a view

to using any acquired funds or materials for the benefit and improvement of fisheries.

Recently, funding was acquired from the Angling Trust for the purpose of

platform and swim improvements at Hunstrete.

The amount acquired was matched and exceeded in monetary terms by the Association and

man hours.

As a result, Withy Pool has seen replacement of many of the old style wooden platforms by

more natural materials which will be easier and cheaper to maintain in the future which from an ecological point of view is a job well done.

The swims are safer and larger and look really good.

OVER 55’S AND DISABLED  MATCH RESULT HELD ON BRIDGE POOL THURSDAY 22nd NOVEMBER 2018

The latest round of the over 55 and disabled match series has taken place on Bridge Pool.  A cold frosty start greeted 17 anglers this week with the temperature close to freezing and the water clear all thought bites would be difficult to come by. That would turn out to be the case for all anglers except one, Tony Rixon fishing peg 11 absolutely blew the rest of the field away with a fantastic weight of 122lb-7oz to win the match with ease. Tony caught most of his fish just off the island using bread and triple maggot. Although the last hour went quiet for Tony the damage had already been done. Full result below
